SCHOOL CHAPLAIN

After the meal Jesus said to Simon Peter, “Simon son of   John, do you love me more than these others do?” He   answered, “Yes Lord, You know I love you”. Jesus said to   him, “Feed my lambs”. A second time he said to him, “Simon son of John, do you love me?” He replied, “Yes   Lord, you know I love you”. Jesus said to him, “Look after   my sheep”. Then he said to him a third time, “Simon son of   John, do you love me?” Peter was upset that he asked him   the third time, “Do you love me?” and said, “Lord, you   know everything; you know I love you”. Jesus said to him, “Feed my sheep”. (John 21, 15-17)

Consolata School Chaplaincy is derived from the mandate of Christ, “Look after my sheep”. This Academic Institution is a mission field and, for that matter, missionary work of spiritual nourishment of the flock of Christ takes place here. We listen attentively to the mandate of Jesus Christ our Divine Master, i.e., “feed my lambs!” and we take it as an essential responsibility to take care of our school population spiritually.

The work of Chaplaincy in our school is founded on the unique spirituality consolation where we need to ensure that everyone here is consoled in order to console other people. That voice of God directed to Isaiah the Prophet, continues resounding deep in our hearts with this message: “console my people, console them” says your God. (Isaiah 40-1).

The consoling spiritual nourishment of our chaplaincy is directed to our learners, staff and any of our stake holders who may need it. There is a Consolata Missionary Priest who is the Chaplain of the School and we also count on the help of other priests whenever there is need. The role of the Chaplain is to accompany us in spiritual direction, confession, preparation and celebration of the sacraments, and any other activity related to Pastoral care.
